Polo

Polo 'the sport of kings' is one of the oldest sports, with its roots as early as the 6th century BC in Persia. The sport consists of four players on each team who must work together to hit the ball (with a mallet) between the opposing team's two goal posts, whilst defending their own goal area -all while riding on horseback. Polo can be an exhilirating but at times dangerous sport and injuries, esp. from falling from one's horse, do occur from time to time.

The Australian Polo Federation is the governing body for polo in Australia. If you are looking to join a polo club, some of the more prestigious clubs to consider are the Sydney Polo Club and the Victorian Polo Club.
